Okuma LB10:
First encounter with the LB10 was with a friend who runs a lathe metalworking shop full of trusty green Okuma's. Reaching now 40 years of age, these machines still run every day, robust like a tank and hold tolerances all day long. After seeing this i was convinced, bought a Okuma Mill and later on one of these die hard LB10's lathes. Machine nr 1343 from 1985. Bought it in a broken state for a very reasonable price. And it had the challenge of fixing it. I share this page for fun and for reference. The machine age automaticly comes with the challenge to run 40 years old electronics. Luckily Okuma is well documented and spare parts are reasonably well obtainable from ebay etc. Love to share technical nerd stuff. I am active on the practical machinist forum as Vulcanalia.
